Dean of FMIPA UII Messages “Three Diseases” that Graduates Should Avoid
Kaliurang — “As the Dean, representing the entire academic community of the Faculty of MIPA, we would like to remind all graduates that after leaving the FMIPA faculty that we hold dear, you must be free from these three diseases: Kadas, Kudis, and Kurap.”
This statement immediately caught the attention of the audience, especially the graduating students, astonished. They glanced at each other, questioning, “Is there anyone who has had these ‘diseases’ during their studies?”
However, FMIPA Dean Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., commonly known as Prof. Ri, quickly clarified that what he meant by “Kadas” was Lack of Intelligence, “Kudis” referred to Lack of Discipline, and “Kurap” stood for Lack of Neatness. After this explanation, he serious and tense atmosphere became more relaxed. The attendees nodded and smiled, some even saying, “Oh, now I get it.”
Although the atmosphere became lighter, the important message that the faculty wanted to convey remained clear: FMIPA graduates must become individuals who are more intelligent, disciplined, and neat. With these qualities, it is hoped that a bright future will soon follow, as emphasized by Prof. Ri during his speech.
