Bu-Gi Canteen, Weekly Wednesday Morning Study: Eid al-Adha Theme

FMIPA UII – On Wednesday (July 20), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UII held an Islamic study session at the FMIPA UII prayer room, attended by lecturers and staff within FMIPA UII, featuring Ustadz Siswo Bowo Laksono as the speaker. This study session is part of a regular program held every Wednesday morning from 08.00 to 09.00 WIB, running for five sessions with different topics each week. The “Kantin Bu-Gi” program has become one of the agendas for FMIPA UII lecturers and staff to deepen their understanding and insight into Islamic teachings in order to become more devout individuals to Allah SWT.

With the main theme of Eid al-Adha, the study session proceeded smoothly and solemnly. The meaning of Eid al-Adha was the core essence of that morning’s study. Ustadz Bowo conveyed that the comparison between human life in this world and in the hereafter is like the water on a human finger compared to the water in the ocean—that is, nothing. Therefore, humans must always prove their love for the Creator, just as Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) showed his devotion by being willing to sacrifice Prophet Ismail (peace be upon him) on Allah’s command. Human sustenance has already been determined by Allah SWT. We, as humans in this world, are only taking our share of that sustenance, said Ustadz Bowo.

As he concluded his lecture, Ustadz Bowo emphasized the importance of being grateful for all that has been given by the Almighty. A question-and-answer session marked the end of that Wednesday morning study.
