VISITING PROFESSOR FROM JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY AT THE STATISTICS STUDY PROGRAM FACULTY OF MIPA UII
Aktivitas Pengajaran Dr. Kartick Chandra Mondal
FMIPA UII – Since July 2020, the national accreditation status of the Statistics Study Program has been accredited A based on the Decree of BAN-PT No. 3909/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VII/2020. To achieve international accreditation status, the Statistics Study Program has undergone assessment by one of the International Accreditation Agencies, namely Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik (ASIIN). ASIIN is an international accreditation agency from Germany that focuses on the fields of engineering, science, mathematics, informatics, agriculture, and economics. Then, on January 13, 2022, ASIIN announced that the Statistics Study Program received ASIIN accreditation for a period of approximately one year, starting from December 7, 2021 to April 18, 2023. If the requirements stated in the ASIIN Accreditation Report are fulfilled on time, the accreditation will be extended to a period of approximately five years, until September 30, 2027. One of the conditions for obtaining the 5-year ASIIN accreditation is related to international mobility.
As one of the efforts to fulfill the ASIIN accreditation, the Statistics Study Program has been promoting academic mobility more intensively. To implement this activity, Alhamdulillah, the Statistics Study Program received a grant from the Directorate of Partnership/Office of International Affairs with the main theme being the Implementation of MoU in the Framework of Enhancing International Academic Mobility and International Exposure at PSS UII. One of the international mobility programs is lecturer exchange. This activity involves the participation of partner lecturers in student research/supervision and teaching.
In this activity, the study program succeeded in inviting Dr. Kartick Chandra Mondal, a lecturer from the Department of Information Technology at Jadavpur University, India. He stayed in Indonesia for a period of one month (from May to the end of June 2022). Some of his activities included teaching collaboration, research, short courses, and even serving as a thesis examiner for students. In addition, there was also a curriculum sharing discussion session on the curriculum of Jadavpur University that he teaches. This serves as a form of curriculum reflection for the study program to remain competitive with Statistics Departments anywhere. In addition to the lecturer exchange, other programs included podcasts and short courses that continued until August 2022. Hopefully in the future, the Statistics Study Program will remain consistent and continue to contribute to the progress of the Indonesian nation and state. Aamiin Yaa Robbal ‘Aalamiin.
