Strengthening Islamic Values Through the Islamic Core Values Deepening Program I (PNDI I) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UII

FMIPA UII – The Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) upholds its strong commitment to fostering religious guidance within the university environment. This commitment is manifested through the implementation of the Islamic Core Values Deepening Program I (PNDI I) in 2022, which was attended by all new students of the 2022/2023 academic year. This series of activities is routinely held every year by the Directorate of Islamic Education and Guidance (DPPAI) UII and is mandatory for all new students. PNDI is organized annually at each faculty, including the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UII.

On Saturday (August 27), FMIPA UII held the PNDI I program offline. The participants of PNDI I were new students from the Undergraduate Program in Statistics, Undergraduate Program in Chemistry Education, Undergraduate Program in Pharmacy, Undergraduate Program in Chemistry, and Diploma Program in Chemical Analysis. Starting at 07.00 WIB, participants gathered in their assigned classrooms as designated by DPPAI, guided by musyrif and musyrifah.

The instilling and provision of basic Islamic values at UII was carried out through material presentations by instructors in each class. This method is considered more effective in enhancing the participants’ Islamic knowledge. Following the material presentation sessions, to assess the level of understanding, knowledge, and basic competencies, participants were required to take the Placement Test of Religion (PTA). Each participant was assessed on their basic competencies by two PTA examiners. It is expected that through the PTA, DPPAI will be able to identify the capabilities of the participants, thus enabling tailored religious guidance based on their abilities. The series of PNDI events concluded with a Studium Generale themed “Becoming a True Muslim Youth in the Era of Disruption.” The Studium Generale, featuring Ustadz Wijayanto, was held online and broadcast live via DPPAI UII’s YouTube channel.
