FMIPA UII – The benchmarking of Statistics Corners throughout Indonesia conducted a coordination meeting as well as a visit to the Statistics Corner of the Islamic University of Indonesia on Tuesday, 16 Rabiul Akhir/31 October 2023. The Statistics Corner is a collaborative service between Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and universities as a form of commitment to disseminate the variety and benefits of statistical products produced by BPS, aimed at increasing statistical literacy in the academic environment.

This event was attended by 34 Provincial Statistics Indonesia Offices and Statistics Corners from 34 universities in Indonesia, and was part of the Coordination Forum activities between Statistics Indonesia and universities through the Fullboard Meeting for the Evaluation of the Implementation of Statistics Corners in Universities held on 29–31 October 2023 at the Grand Mercure Hotel.

At the highlight of the event, Statistics Indonesia held a benchmarking activity to the UII Statistics Corner located in the Mohammad Hatta Building, UII Central Library. Participants consisting of lecturers, students, and BPS staff were invited to observe closely the governance system of the UII Statistics Corner, which has already been standardized.

In her welcoming remarks during the opening discussion forum at the UII Central Library Auditorium, Director of Statistical Dissemination of Statistics Indonesia, Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami, S.Si., M.Si., expressed her appreciation for the support provided by UII, especially the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Statistics, for the existence of the Statistics Corner. She also expressed hope that the UII Statistics Corner would become increasingly useful in bringing statistics closer to the academic community of UII.

At the end of the event, all participants were invited to visit the UII Statistics Corner and continued the tour to the UII Library Museum and Kimpulan Temple, concluding with a group photo session.
