Simulate a lecture on “Job Opportunity Exploration” to participants of Youth Edutrip Chapter 1

FMIPA UII – welcomed students participating in Youth Edutrip Chapter 1 from various schools across the country, from Sabang to Merauke, on Wednesday, 24 Rabiul Akhir 1445/8 November 2023, at the Prof. Dr. H. Zamzawi Soejoeti, M.Sc. Building, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Islamic University of Indonesia.

Youth EduTrip is a semi-academic program that combines educational elements in a travel experience. This program is designed to suit the needs and learning interests of junior and senior high school students, allowing them to experience modern learning methods outside of school. Youth EduTrip features engaging activities such as seminars, university visits and tours, city exploration, and an awarding night, explained Kurnia Wulandari as Project Leader of YE 2023 in her remarks at FMIPA.

The event was attended by 9 outstanding student representatives from various schools in Indonesia, including Quirina Adriane Sumampow from SMK Negeri 2 Buduran, Muhammad Farid Suherman from SMA Negeri 1 Cimalaka, Muh. Alief Archie M. from SMA Negeri 3 Bone, Salma Ilafya Medina from SMA Avicenna Cinere, Yohanes Raja Batu Bara from SMAN 1 Buntok, Tegar Khoerussyifaa from SMAN 1 Ajibarang, Angelita Laurencia from SMAN 1 Pematang Karau, Sayyid Fahmi Muhammad from MAN Insan Cendekia Aceh Timur, and Annisa Fika Rahmadania from MAN 2 Tasikmalaya. The event began with a lecture on the Chemistry Department delivered by the Head of Chemistry Study Program, Mr. Gani Purwiandono, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., and the Head of Education Study Program, Ms. Lina Fauziah, S.Pd., M.Sc. In the second session, a lecture on the Statistics Department was delivered by the Secretary of the Statistics Department, Ms. Arum Handini Primandari, S.PdSi., M.Sc. All participants appeared very enthusiastic throughout the course simulation series, with almost all of them asking questions during the Q&A session.

For FMIPA UII, this event served not only as a promotional effort to enhance new student admissions in 2024 but also as a way to introduce FMIPA as an alternative academic choice and to broaden participants’ perspectives in preparing for the job market after graduation.
