FMIPA UII Becomes Mentor for FST UIN Malang in Submitting ASIIN International Accreditation

FMIPA UII – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) served as a mentor for the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang in the submission process for ASIIN international accreditation. ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) is an international accreditation agency based in Germany, specializing in engineering, mathematics and sciences, agriculture, and biology disciplines.

Currently, nearly all study programs within FMIPA UII have received ASIIN international accreditation, including the Statistics Study Program, Master of Chemistry Program, Chemistry Program, Pharmacy Program, Chemistry Education Program, and the D3 Analytical Chemistry Program. “When we apply for any international accreditation, such as ASIIN, one of the key aspects to consider is the consistency between the data submitted and the information available on the website. People abroad are very detail-oriented; every piece of information presented online must be backed with concrete evidence,” said Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UII, while opening the focused group discussion with the leadership of FST UIN Malang regarding the ASIIN accreditation application. The meeting took place on Friday, 24 Jumadil Awal 1445H / 8 December 2023 in the Main Conference Room of FMIPA UII.

The productive discussion, attended by FST UIN Malang leaders—including heads of study programs, laboratory heads, and division chiefs—began with a review of the ASIIN accreditation documents. These were examined one by one and jointly corrected, with FMIPA UII leadership serving as mentors to assist in the preparation of required materials. Also present to provide feedback during the focused discussion were Apt. Saepudin, M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Resources, and Tri Esti Purbaningtias, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FMIPA UII.
