FMIPA UII – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) has strengthened its collaboration in developing the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program with the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The cooperation agreement was signed on Tuesday, 13 Zulkaidah 1445 H (May 21, 2024) at the Disaster Risk Management Laboratory, FMIPA UII, attended by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., the Head of BPS DIY, Ir. Herum Fajarwati, M.M., and leaders from both institutions.

This collaboration includes various educational activities such as internships, teaching practice, and course credit conversion from internship activities at the BPS DIY Statistics Corner located at UII. Ir. Herum Fajarwati, M.M. expressed appreciation for UII, especially the FMIPA Statistics Department, for their efforts in providing data services through the Statistics Corner. BPS is ready to provide support and guidance in implementing the MBKM program, mentoring processes, as well as course evaluation and credit conversion.

The Statistics Corner itself is a result of collaboration between BPS and universities to provide consultation services, education, and a reading space for statistics. Currently, there are two BPS Statistics Corners in DIY, one at UII located in the UII Central Library, and the other at Universitas Gunung Kidul.
