Leadership and Da’wah Training (PKD) and Self-Development Training (PPD) for FMIPA UII students batch of 2023
FMIPA UII – On Saturday and Sunday, June 1–2, 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII), held the Leadership and Da’wah Training (PKD) and Self-Development Training (PPD) for FMIPA students of the 2023 batch. This activity is part of a program by the Directorate of Islamic Education and Development (DPPAI) UII as a university initiative to produce graduates with Islamic vision and mission.
This activity is part of the implementation of UII’s fourth dharma, namely religious curriculum, which must be followed by all UII students. The series of activities for new students before starting lectures includes an orientation week (Pekan Ta’aruf), followed by the first session of Basic Islamic Values Deepening (PNDI). In this phase, students who are already fluent in reading the Qur’an can proceed to take the Religious Placement Test (PTA), Leadership and Da’wah Training (PKD) I, and Self-Development Training (PPD).
PKD I and PPD activities were held for two consecutive days. PKD I was conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Ulil Albab Mosque, UII. PPD was held on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the FMIPA UII building. This event was attended by 346 FMIPA UII students, consisting of 82 male and 264 female participants.
The main session of PKD I began with a Talk Show moderated by DPPAI, with the first speaker being Dr. Agus Taufiqurrahman, M.Kes, Sp.S., followed by the second speaker, a 2009 Pharmacy alumnus of FMIPA UII, Mr. apt. Noor Ardhi Pratomo, S.Farm. The Talk Show lasted for 90 minutes, including a 30-minute Q&A session with the students.
On the second day, participants of PPD were assigned to designated classrooms. Classes A–B were for male participants, while classes C through H were for female participants. The opening of the PPD was guided by the Musyrif/Musyrifah of each student group. The main session began with the first topic, “Self-Awareness,” followed by the second topic, “Self-Regulation & Thinking Skill,” and concluded with the topic “Problem Solving & Collaboration Skills.”
