Dynamics of ISO 9001:2015 and 45001:2018 Audit at FMIPA UII in 2024

FMIPA UII (02/07/2024) – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII), underwent an audit by the international certification body QSCert® to verify the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. This audit aimed to ensure that the quality management system and occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) at FMIPA UII operate in accordance with the established international requirements.

The audit team consisted of experienced professionals in the fields of quality management and occupational health and safety. Among them were Ir. Arief Syawaladi, President Director of QSCert® Indonesia, and Dr. Ir. Ketut Ima Ismara, M.Pd., M.Kes., IPU, ASEAN. Eng, a doctorate holder from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. They arrived at FMIPA UII with the agenda of conducting a thorough evaluation of the faculty’s policies, procedures, and practices.

The audit process began with an opening meeting involving the auditors and representatives from FMIPA UII, including the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Study Programs, Laboratory Coordinators, Heads of Laboratories, Division Heads, and Quality System Assurance Officers (PSM) from each unit. Over the course of a full day, the auditors conducted a series of assessments, including interviews with faculty representatives, document reviews, and direct evaluations of various operational processes.

During the audit, the team evaluated the effectiveness of the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 policies governing quality management, as well as compliance with the ISO 45001:2018 requirements related to health and safety within the academic environment. They also provided recommendations and suggestions for improvements that FMIPA UII could implement to enhance performance and compliance with internationally recognized standards.

Prof. Riyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UII, welcomed the audit as part of the faculty’s commitment to providing a safe and supportive work and learning environment, and to improving the quality of education and research services offered to students and the wider community.

The comprehensive audit results are expected to strengthen FMIPA UII’s reputation for maintaining international quality standards and to serve as a foundation for continuous improvement in quality management and occupational health and safety in the future.
