Strengthening Quality Assurance and Health Systems, FMIPA UII Submits for ISO 9001:2015 and 45001:2018 Audit Visitation

FMIPA UII – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII), underwent an audit process by the International Certification Body QSCert® to verify the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards on 25 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 H / 2 July 2024 at the FMIPA UII Auditorium. The audit visitation was carried out to ensure that the quality management system and the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) at FMIPA UII operate in accordance with established international requirements.

In his brief opening remarks, Prof. Riyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D., as the Dean of FMIPA UII, welcomed the audit implementation as part of the faculty’s commitment to providing a safe and supportive work and learning environment, as well as improving the quality of educational and research services offered to students and the public. He added that the results of this comprehensive audit are expected to strengthen FMIPA UII’s reputation in maintaining international quality standards and serve as a foundation for ongoing improvements in quality management and occupational health and safety in the future.

The audit team consisted of professionals experienced in the fields of quality management and occupational health and safety. Among them were Ir. Arief Syawaladi, President Director of QSCert® Indonesia, and Dr. Ir. Ketut Ima Ismara, M.Pd., M.Kes., IPU, ASEAN. Eng, a doctorate holder from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. They arrived at FMIPA UII with the agenda of conducting a thorough evaluation of the policies, procedures, and practices implemented by the faculty.

The audit activities began with a brief opening ceremony attended by all faculty leaders, including the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Study Programs, Laboratory Coordinators, Laboratory Heads, Division Heads, and Quality System Assurance Officers (PSM) from each unit. The audit team then conducted a series of assessments, including interviews with faculty representatives, document reviews, and evaluations of various operational processes within FMIPA.

The auditors directly inspected and assessed the effectiveness of the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 policies regulating quality management, as well as compliance with ISO 45001:2018 requirements related to occupational health and safety within the academic environment of the faculty. The audit team also provided recommendations and suggestions for improvements that FMIPA UII could implement to enhance performance, services, and compliance with applicable international standards.
