Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Becomes a Reference
Applies for International Accreditation

FMIPA UII – The Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) has been appointed as a partner by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, to implement the Study Program Development Program aimed at meeting the 2024 International Quality Standards. In its implementation, UII’s Quality Assurance Agency selected the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Faculty of Law (FH) as partners to share their experiences with participants, consisting of study program leaders from public and private universities across Indonesia.

This program was attended by various universities, including Universitas Negeri Semarang with six study programs, Universitas Riau with one study program, Universitas PGRI Semarang with three study programs, Universitas Islam Bandung with nine study programs, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya with one study program. A total of 47 participants were present, consisting of heads of study programs and quality assurance units.

Dean of FMIPA UII, Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., explained that FMIPA became one of the reference faculties in this program due to the number of its internationally accredited study programs. In his remarks at the FMIPA Auditorium on Friday, 20 Muharram 1446 H (26 July 2024), he emphasized the importance of courage in the accreditation process. “Currently, FMIPA has nine study programs, six of which have received accreditation from ASIIN. The key to obtaining international accreditation is courage. Each study program must first be willing to apply for accreditation before preparing all the necessary supporting documentation,” he stated.

This program is expected to encourage the improvement of higher education quality in Indonesia and strengthen universities’ capabilities in meeting international quality standards.
