ICPRP 2024: Exploring the Potential of AI and Data Science in the World of Pharmacy
Yogyakarta, September 14, 2024 – The pharmaceutical world continues to advance rapidly with the emergence of new technologies. The 2024 International Conference on Pharmaceutical Research and Practice (ICPRP), held at the Alana Hotel Convention Center Yogyakarta, will serve as a platform for experts and researchers to discuss the crucial role of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science in drug development and pharmaceutical practices.
With the theme “Emerging of AI and Data Science in Pharmaceuticals,” ICPRP 2024 will feature prominent speakers from various countries who will share their knowledge and experiences. Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the applications of AI in new drug development, clinical data analysis, and personalized medicine.
Prior to the main conference, a series of workshops will be held at the Islamic University of Indonesia from September 11-13, 2024. These workshops aim to deepen participants’ understanding of specific topics related to AI and data science in pharmacy. There are three workshop topics offered right before the main conference: the Nano-pharmacy Workshop, Endophytic Fungi Workshop, and Education Workshop. The Nano-pharmacy Workshop covers the topic “Design of Smart and Target Drug-Herbal Nanomedicine for Safe and Effective Therapy,” held at the Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory, featuring instructors such as Sjaikhurrizal El Muttaqien, Ph.D. (BRIN – Vaccine and Drugs Research Center), Fitria Dwi Ayuningtyas, Ph.D. (Head of ITB-Olympus Bioimaging Center; ITB Nanocenter), Ebrahim Saad Sadaaqa, M.Sc., Pharm.D. (Doctoral Candidate, ITB International Student), Prof. Dr. apt. Yandi Syukri, M.Sc. (UII-Nanopharmacy), apt. Bambang H. Nugroho, M.Sc. (UII-Nanopharmacy), and apt. Hannie Fitriani, M.Farm. (UII-Nanopharmacy). The Endophytic Fungi Workshop focuses on “Introduction to Isolation of Endophytes as a Source of Bioactive Metabolites,” held at the Endophytic Fungi Laboratory, with instructors including Muhammad Ilyas, M.Sc. (BRIN) and Dr. apt. Asih Triastuti, M.Pharm. (UII). The Education Workshop, entitled “Optimization AI for Education,” will be held at the 4th-floor auditorium of the FMIPA UII building, featuring instructors such as Prof. Peter W. Swaan, Ph.D., M.Pharm. (University of Florida, USA) and Ahmad Fathan Hidayatullah, S.T., M.Sc. (UII).
The Pharmacy Department of the Islamic University of Indonesia, as the host of this international conference, invites academics, pharmacy practitioners, students, and all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical field to participate in ICPRP 2024. In addition to the Pharmacy Department, the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) and Mulawarman University are also co-hosting ICPRP 2024.
The ICPRP 2024 conference begins with a Keynote Speech delivered by Prof. apt. I Ketut Adnyana, M.Si., Ph.D., Deputy Chair for Research and Cooperation, Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Higher Education. This is followed by a Plenary Session led by apt. Saepudin, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., with three main speakers: Prof. Peter W. Swaan, Ph.D., M.Pharm., Dean of the Florida College of Pharmacy; Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Mahidol University; and Pharma Business Expert Apt. Rizman Abudaeri, S.Si.
After the Plenary Session, the conference continues with two simultaneous symposiums. The first symposium, chaired by apt. Suci Hanifah, Ph.D., focuses on the theme “Application of Artificial Intelligence/Novel Technology in Drug Development and Clinical Practice” with three speakers: Dr. Sabariah Noor Harun, Dr. Zalikha Ibrahim, and Dr. apt. Dimas Adhi Pradana, M.Sc. Meanwhile, the second symposium addresses the theme “Pharmacometrics and Education in the New Technology Era” and includes four speakers: Mukhammad Andri Setiawan, M.Sc., Ph.D., apt. Okti Ratna Mafruhah, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dr. apt. Angga Cipta Narsa, M.Si., and Dr. Nusaibah Abdul Rahim.
The event concludes with the announcement of the Best Oral and Poster Presentations. The 1st Winner of the Poster Presentation was apt. Urva Fresiva, M.Farm. (Wahid Hasyim University), the 2nd Winner was apt. Difa Intannia, M.Farm-Klin (Lambung Mangkurat University), and the 3rd Winner was Hanan Mohammed Salem (Islamic University of Indonesia). For the Oral Presentation category, the 1st Winner was apt. Navista Sri Octa Ujiantari, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Gadjah Mada University), the 2nd Winner was Adi Hermawansyah, S.Si (Islamic University of Indonesia), and the 3rd Winner was apt. Shofiatul Fuadah, S.Farm. (Islamic University of Indonesia).
