84 New Pharmacists Ready to Serve Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UII

SLEMAN – The Professional Pharmacist Study Program (PSPA) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) held an oath-taking ceremony for the 43rd batch of pharmacists on 16 Rabiul Awal 1446 H, coinciding with 20 September 2024 M, at the KH Abdul Kahar Mudzakir Auditorium UII. A total of 84 new pharmacists were officially oath-taken and ready to actively contribute in improving health services in Indonesia.

The ceremony was led by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., and continued with the oath-taking procession guided by the Vice Dean for Resources, Apt. Saepudin, M.Si., Ph.D. As part of the organizational rules, the oath was taken by the faculty leader who is also a pharmacist, accompanied by the presence of spritual leader and attended by a board of oath-takers, including the Rector of UII, the head of the Department of Pharmacy, the head of PSPA, and representatives from the Health Office.

In her report, the Head of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program, Dr. Apt. Farida Hayati, M.Si., presented the UII Rector’s decree regarding the graduation of the 43rd batch of pharmacists. She stated that of the 84 pharmacists who graduated, 51 of them achieved the title “cum laude”, while 33 others were regular pharmacists.

UII Rector, Fathul Wahid, in his speech said that the pharmacist oath taken is a commitment to provide quality, ethical, and safe health services for the community. “This oath is not just words, but a promise to uphold professional ethics and responsibilities as a pharmacist,” he said. He also added that future challenges for pharmacists include developments in science and technology, demographic changes, and important issues such as drug safety, personalized care, and innovations in telepharmacy. “May your career always be successful with high dedication and integrity. Continue to uphold the values of ethics, science, and service to the community,” Fathul Wahid said at the end of his speech.

In this procession, awards were given to pharmacists with the best academic performance index (GPA), namely Apt. Irvianda Guana Permata, S.Farm., and Apt. Anni’sya Alfanura, S.Farm, who both achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00 and received the title “Summa Cum Laude”. Awards were also given to Apt. Febri Aji Nugroho, S.Farm, who achieved the highest score in the Indonesian Pharmacist Professional Program Student Competency Test (UKMPPAI) with a score of 84.00. In addition, the “CDC Award” for the 43rd Batch was given to Apt. Yuan Tamara, S.Farm.

By conducting this event, PSPA FMIPA UII hopes that the new pharmacists can make a real and meaningful contribution to support the progress of the world of health in Indonesia.
