STARTING THE 2024 ADMISSION PROMOTION, FMIPA RECEIVES VISITS FROM VARIOUS HIGH SCHOOLS IN OCTOBER

FMIPA UII – In an effort to increase the number of new student admissions in 2025, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII) has begun its promotional activities earlier, including participating in various expos and utilizing school visits to FMIPA UII. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is one of the faculties that attracts visits from high school students who wish to learn about university life as a reference for their future studies.

Based on the data we obtained, FMIPA receives an average of 3 to 5 visit requests from various schools every month, both from within the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) and outside of it, including from schools outside the island of Java. This, of course, presents an opportunity for FMIPA to promote itself with the hope that each New Student Admission period will result in an increased number of applicants.

In addition to being a promotional medium for FMIPA itself, school visits to FMIPA have become an attraction for students who need information about higher education. From several students interviewed by UII News about why they visited FMIPA UII, most answered that they wanted to directly observe the practicum activities in FMIPA laboratories. They were interested in seeing firsthand how essential oil production, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and statistical data analysis are taught in line with the departments offered at FMIPA UII.

On another occasion, Nurcahyo Iman Prakoso, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., as the head of the 2025 FMIPA PMB Promotion Team, also stated that for the 2025 admissions, FMIPA UII will promote its study programs more intensively. “The efforts we have taken and will continue to take include participating in education expos, alumni goes-to-school activities, disseminating information about admission programs such as scholarships, and maximizing school visits like this one to promote FMIPA directly, as well as utilizing social media as a platform to convey the information,” he said after giving a presentation during the visit of MA BIN BAZ to FMIPA on Wednesday, 13 Rabiul Akhir 1446H / 16 October 2024M.
