FMIPA UII – To enhance the da’wah (Islamic preaching) skills of educational staff, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII) organized a Da’wah Methodology Training for educational personnel on Thursday, 25 Jumadil Ula 1446 H / 28 November 2024 at the FMIPA UII Auditorium.
The training was divided into two sessions: the morning session focused on the theory of fiqh dakwah (Islamic jurisprudence of preaching) and methods for selecting da’wah topics, while the afternoon session required all participants to practice delivering a da’wah, guided by panelists who provided feedback and direction on their presentations.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Dean for Resources of FMIPA, apt. Saepudin, M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the training aimed to strengthen the preaching skills of FMIPA’s educational staff, enabling them to play an active role in community da’wah while mastering the principles of fiqh dakwah so that their messages would be clear and well-received. He also noted that this training could be counted as learning hours toward fulfilling the annual learning requirements for educational staff.
The training was well-received by all participating staff and laboratory assistants, with high enthusiasm throughout the day. In the afternoon, the practical session drew particular interest, as each participant was required to come forward and deliver a short da’wah on a topic of their choice. The session was divided by gender, with male and female participants each accompanied by their respective ustadz and ustadzah. Adding to the engaging atmosphere, participants who had just completed their turn could nominate the next person to present, making the session lively and interactive.
