FMIPA UII establishes collaboration with UNY

FMIPA UII – Strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and institutional development between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Yogyakarta State University (FMIPA UNY) became the focal point of discussion during the signing of the cooperation agreement between FMIPA UII and FMIPA UNY on Thursday, 10 Jumadil Akhir 1446 H / 12 December 2024, in the Main Meeting Room of FMIPA UII.

The discussion, led directly by the Dean of FMIPA UII, Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., covered the scope of the agreement, including student exchange and credit transfer, teaching through faculty exchange, the organization of conferences/seminars/workshops, human resource empowerment for thesis, dissertation, and research supervision and examination, journal management, study program accreditation, joint research/publication, article exchange, and quality assurance activities. In addition, Prof. Ri—Prof. Riyanto’s familiar nickname—shared that while FMIPA UII and FMIPA UNY have collaborated frequently in developing both institutions, a formal cooperation agreement had not existed until now. Therefore, this agreement is an important step to ensure and enhance future joint activities, especially in the realm of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The study programs involved in this cooperation agreement include the Undergraduate Chemistry Program, the Undergraduate Chemistry Education Program, and the Undergraduate Statistics Program.

During this signing ceremony, an Implementation Arrangement for the Joint Research Program was also formalized between the Undergraduate Chemistry Program of the Chemistry Education Department of FMIPA UNY and the Chemistry Program of FMIPA UII. The joint research will be carried out by Prof. Dr. Is Fatimah, S.Si., M.Si. (FMIPA UII), Dr. Retno Arianingrum, M.Si., Isti Yunita, Ph.D. (FMIPA UNY), and several students.
