FMIPA UII – In 2025, the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) celebrates its 82nd anniversary since its founding on 27 Rajab 1364 H or 8 July 1945. This year’s anniversary carries the theme UII Understands the Earth, as a campaign to encourage the entire UII academic community and the wider public to be more mindful of environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

In the open senate meeting held at the K.H. Abdul Kahar Muzakkir Auditorium, Integrated Campus UII, on Thursday (30/1/2025), UII Rector, Prof. Fathul Wahid, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered a report on UII’s development based on the UII Strategic Plan 2022–2026. The report focused on three strategic goals: strengthening the roots (values and internal capacity), growing the branches (sustainable innovation), and widening the fruits (networks and impact). Root strengthening is achieved through the integration of Islamic and national values along with enhanced internal capacity, while branch growth involves sustainable innovation for international recognition.

In the scientific oration delivered by Dr. Hijrah Purnama Putra from the Environmental Engineering Department of FTSP UII, the idea of realizing a zero waste society was presented. This program highlights the role of individuals and groups in waste management, including UII’s initiatives in education and waste processing.

On the same occasion, FMIPA UII demonstrated remarkable achievement by receiving six out of the nine awards presented in the 2024 Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System. The awards included:

1. Best Faculty in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by the Dean of FMIPA UII, Prof. Riyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D.
2. 1st Best Department in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by the Head of the Master’s Program in Chemistry, Dr. Tatang Shabur Julianto, S.Si., M.Si.
3. 2nd Best Department in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by the Head of the Pharmacy Department, Prof. Dr. apt. Yandi Syukri, S.Si., M.Si.
4. 1st Best Undergraduate Study Program in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by the Head of the Undergraduate Chemistry Program, Gani Purwiandono, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.
5. 1st Best Professional, Master’s, and Doctoral Study Program in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by the Head of the Professional Pharmacist Program, Dr. apt. Farida Hayati, S.Si., M.Si.
6. Best Internal Quality Audit Auditor in the Implementation of UII’s Quality Assurance System – received by Dr. Kariyam, S.Si., M.Si., Lecturer in the Statistics Department of FMIPA UII.

This achievement reflects FMIPA UII’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing academic quality and quality management within the university. With this success, FMIPA UII further strengthens its position as a leading faculty contributing to academic development and innovation both nationally and internationally.
