Chemistry Department of FMIPA UII Becomes a Benchmark for Learning System at FMIPA Universitas Pakuan (UNPAK) Bogor

FMIPA UII – The Chemistry Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), once again served as a reference for other universities in developing curriculum design and quality assurance systems. This time, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Pakuan (UNPAK) Bogor, conducted a benchmarking visit to the Chemistry Department of FMIPA UII on Wednesday, 2 Rabiul Awwal 1447 H / 24 September 2025 at the FMIPA UII Auditorium, Integrated Campus UII.

The visit aimed to gain a first-hand understanding of the implementation of UII’s learning system, outcome-based education (OBE) curriculum, and quality assurance practices that have earned both national and international recognition. In addition, UNPAK sought to learn from UII’s experience in achieving international accreditation and sustaining its academic excellence.

In her welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Is Fatimah, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Chemistry Department, expressed her appreciation for the trust given by Universitas Pakuan.

“We are honored and proud that the Chemistry Department of FMIPA UII has become a reference for Universitas Pakuan in developing its quality assurance and curriculum systems. We hope this visit will be a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and collaboration to strengthen the quality of higher education in Indonesia,” she stated.

Representatives from FMIPA Universitas Pakuan expressed that the Chemistry Department of FMIPA UII was chosen as their benchmarking destination due to its success in implementing an integrated, innovative, and internationally oriented academic system. They also hoped that UII’s experiences and best practices would inspire further improvements in Universitas Pakuan’s learning and quality assurance systems.

The benchmarking activity is expected to serve as the starting point for future academic and research collaborations between the two institutions, particularly in curriculum development, research initiatives, and human resource capacity building.

By becoming a reference for other institutions, the Chemistry Department of FMIPA UII continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading chemistry study programs in Indonesia, committed to academic excellence, innovation, and contributing to the advancement of science both nationally and globally.
