FMIPA UII Successfully Holds The 2025 Fifth International Seminar on Science and Technology (5th ISSTEC 2025)
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), successfully organized the 2025 Fifth International Seminar on Science and Technology (5th ISSTEC 2025) on 1 Rabiul Awwal 1447 H / 23 September 2025 at the Prof. Dr. KH. Abdulkahar Muzakir Auditorium, Integrated Campus of Universitas Islam Indonesia, in a hybrid format (on-site and online via Zoom).
Carrying the theme “Recent Breakthroughs in Science, Technology, & Data Analysis,” ISSTEC 2025 served as an international scientific forum highlighting the latest advancements in science, technology, and data analysis. The scope of ISSTEC 2025 covered a wide range of disciplines, including theoretical and experimental physics, physical chemistry, environmental science, nanotechnology, pharmacy, applied statistics, data science, and other related fields. With the rapid development of science and technology, ISSTEC 2025 provided a platform to foster discussions, share innovative ideas, and build collaborations to address both global and local challenges.
ISSTEC 2025 featured distinguished speakers from various countries. During the keynote session, Prof. Teruna Jaya Siahaan from the School of Pharmacy, University of Kansas, USA, delivered his presentation virtually. Three keynote speakers attended the event in person: Prof. Hiroyuki Nakamura from the Institute of Science, Tokyo, Japan, Assoc. Prof. Mullika Traidej Chomnawang from Mahidol University, Thailand, and Prof. Daniel Wei-Chung Miao from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan.
The seminar also featured plenary speakers who further enriched the academic discussions, including Assoc. Prof. ChM. Dr. Normah Binti Awang from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. From within Universitas Islam Indonesia, plenary speakers included Dr. Sci. Dhina Fitriastuti, S.Si., M.Sc., Dr. Raden Bagus Fajriya Hakim, S.Si., M.Si., Ayundyah Kesumawati, S.Si., M.Si., Dr. apt. Oktavia Indrati, S.Farm., M.Sc., and Dr. apt. Aris Perdana Kusuma, S.Farm., M.Sc.
The seminar was attended by 634 participants from various countries including Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, the United States, Brazil, and Malaysia, consisting of researchers, academics, practitioners, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The Dean of FMIPA UII, Prof. Riyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his hope that this seminar would not only serve as a productive academic event but also enrich perspectives, expand professional networks, and inspire new collaborations that contribute to the advancement of science and technology, both in Indonesia and globally. He also conveyed his wish for the entire series of ISSTEC 2025 events to run smoothly, provide valuable experiences, and leave a lasting impression on all participants.
