Inaugural Ta’lim of the FMIPA UII: Sculpting Identity to Become an Empowered Muslim at UII

FMIPA UII The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) once again held its inaugural Ta’lim session for the Odd Semester 2025/2026 on September 16, 2025. This activity, which is routinely held at the start of every semester, is specifically for FMIPA students, especially the new students from the Class of 2025, as an initial step in building an Islamic identity within the campus environment.

The event took place in the Prof. K.H. Abdul Kahar Muzakir Building with the theme ‘Carving an Identity: Becoming an Empowered Muslim at the UII Campus’. Hundreds of students filled the room, and their attendance was also recorded as one session of the ta’lim meeting.

On this occasion, FMIPA UII presented Ustadz Anton Ismunanto, M.Pd., as the main speaker. In his presentation, he reminded the students to always be Muslims who are capable of controlling their feelings, prioritize common sense, and maintain their aqidah (creed) in daily life.

The question-and-answer session that followed the material delivery received an enthusiastic response from the students. Some of them asked about strategies for maintaining memorization amidst the busyness of college, how to control emotions when facing academic pressure, and steps for maintaining consistency in worship within the campus environment. Ustadz Anton answered these questions by providing practical solutions grounded in Islamic teachings. In addition, students who were brave enough to ask questions also received prizes as a form of appreciation from the committee.

As a closing segment, FMIPA UII presented awards to the best mu’allim (male teacher) or mu’allimah (female teacher) from each class year. This year, the awards were given to Aisyah (Muallimah for the Class of 2023 Students) and Khodijah Maghfiroh (Muallimah for the Class of 2024 Students).

Through this activity, FMIPA UII hopes that students will not only excel academically but also become stronger in building an Islamic character as a foundation for contributing to society.
