The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UII Holds the First Ta’lim Session Again for the Even Semester of 2022/2023

FMIPA UII – Carrying the tagline “Start Kuliah, Start Taklim”, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UII consistently and with strong commitment carries out ta’lim (Islamic learning) activities for students in parallel with the beginning of lectures as scheduled in the UII academic calendar. This time, the Taklim Perdana (First Ta’lim) as a symbol of the start of ta’lim activities at FMIPA UII was held on Wednesday, 22 February 2022, at the Ki Bagoes Hadikoesoemo Sports Hall (GOR) UII. The event took place from 15:30 to 17:30 WIB, raising the theme of entrepreneurship, and featured a successful entrepreneur, Muhammad Zulfi Ifani, MA., CEO of PT Iframe Solusi Multimedia, with a talk titled: “Qur’anic Entrepreneur Creating for the Nation”. It was attended by more than 645 students from the 2021 and 2022 cohorts, for whom ta’lim is mandatory. Approximately 94% of the invited participants attended this session, which was to be expected considering that after the pandemic subsided, this Taklim Perdana for the Even Semester 2022/2023 was the first to be held offline (in person), resulting in high enthusiasm from students.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Religion, and Alumni of UII, Dr. Drs. Rohidin, S.H., M.Ag., who expressed great appreciation for the Taklim Perdana held by FMIPA UII. He said, “FMIPA is indeed consistent and always at the forefront as well as the most orderly in implementing Student Ta’lim as an excellent program to foster UII students.” He added, “This Taklim Perdana is part of the implementation of the Ulil Albab Curriculum launched by UII to nurture religious values within the UII academic community.”

In his address, Prof. Riyanto, Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA UII, reminded the audience about improving the quality of ta’lim activities at UII, especially within FMIPA. He emphasized the need for proper monitoring of ta’lim activities, similar to that of regular lectures. “This ta’lim activity uses a considerable budget, so it needs to be well-monitored, not only in its implementation but also in improving the quality of knowledge transfer,” said the dean, who was recently awarded “Academic Leader” first place by LLDIKTI Region V Yogyakarta (DIY).

The Taklim Perdana material delivered by Muhammad Zulfi Ifani, MA., was titled: “Building a Business, Building a Nation (Best Practices @ IFRAME)”. He conveyed that the basic mindset of entrepreneurship is about transforming the nation, which begins with transforming families, and that begins with transforming oneself. Therefore, entrepreneurship is essentially a lifelong journey of self-improvement. Building a nation starts with correcting and improving ourselves.
