Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UII successfully held a webinar entitled Journal Management Towards International Indexation on Saturday (13/8) which was also broadcast live through the FMIPA UII youtube channel. The webinar which was attended by lecturers and journal managers was attended by no less than 80 participants.

The presentation of the webinar material was conducted by Rozi, S.Pi., M. Biotech. As a resource person. Rozi is in charge as a lecturer and journal manager at Airlangga University. Meanwhile, the webinar was guided by a lecturer in Statistics Study Program, FMIPA UII, namely Arum Handini Primandari, S.Pd.Si., M.Sc. as a moderator. The journal management webinar aims to provide information on the preparations that need to be made and the acceleration strategy towards an international reputable journal.

Rozi said, “Several criteria need to be prepared by the journal manager to make an international indexed journal, namely the first is non-technical criteria, the second meets the minimum requirements and the third meets the technical criteria.” In the midst of his presentation, Rozi emphasized the importance of determining the key strategy for accelerating journals towards the Scopus index, namely the geographical diversity of editors, conference participants were given the option to submit to journals, the need for a policy from the faculty dean, participating in editor communities such as RJI and HEBII, ensuring publications run on time and certainty of manuscripts on a regular basis, collaborating with several authors in several countries and modifying aspect management in peer-to-peer journals. The presentation of the webinar material was also accompanied by a discussion session with the participants guided by a moderator which was then followed by the handing over of certificates to the resource persons. At the end of the webinar session, door prizes were provided for the two quiz winners and the three best questioners.
