FMIPA UII – On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII) held the Graduation Farewell Ceremony for Period IV of the 2022/2023 Academic Year for prospective graduates in person at the FMIPA UII Auditorium. This farewell ceremony is a regular event organized by FMIPA UII as a form of appreciation and congratulations to prospective graduates who have completed their studies at FMIPA UII before the official graduation ceremony.

This period’s farewell event carried the theme, “Grow, Synergize, and Serve the Ummah, Globally with FMIPA UII Alumni” and was attended by the FMIPA UII Dean’s Board, Heads of Study Programs, representatives of students’ parents/guardians, FMIPA UII alumni, a representative from the Career and Alumni Development Directorate (DPKA) as a speaker, and a representative from the academic division. The participants consisted of prospective graduates from all study programs, including diploma, undergraduate, and master’s levels at FMIPA UII.

In this period, FMIPA UII graduated 35 students. Out of the total, 17 prospective graduates received the cum laude predicate, and 3 of them achieved the highest GPAs. As a form of appreciation, each Head of Study Program conveyed congratulations to the top achievers, and certificates of appreciation for the highest GPA were awarded by the Dean of FMIPA UII.

Following the awarding of GPA certificates and souvenirs for outstanding students, a speech was delivered by a selected graduate representative, Putwi Widya Citradewi, a master’s student from the Chemistry Program and one of the highest GPA recipients. This was followed by a speech and symbolic handover of the graduates back to their parents/guardians by the Dean of FMIPA UII, Prof. Riyanto, S.Pd., M.Si., Ph.D. A speech from a parent representative, Mr. Lili Solihin, the parent of one of the prospective graduates, was then delivered.

The event continued with a presentation by Ms. Hidayatul Masruroh, S.Pd., an alumna of the Chemistry Education Program, followed by a presentation by DPKA UII representative Ms. Mujiati Dwi Kartikasari, S.Si., M.Sc.

An academic briefing for prospective graduates was then delivered by the Head of the Academic Division, Achmad Rossy Cendana, A.Md.

The farewell ceremony concluded with a message and impression segment in the form of selected pantun (Indonesian rhyming poetry) presented by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Religion, and Alumni, Tri Esti Purbaningtias, S.Si., M.Si., which was enthusiastically welcomed by the participants. After the closing, the event ended with a photo session for each prospective graduate at the photo booth provided in front of the Auditorium.
