Implementation of Collaboration Between the Department of Pharmacy UII and Faculty of Pharmacy Thailand

FMIPA UII – As part of efforts to enhance institutional quality, the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Islamic University of Indonesia (FMIPA UII) visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand, on 3 Jumadil Ula 1446 H / 5 November 2024.

The UII Pharmacy Department delegation consisted of the Department Secretary, apt. Suci Hanifah, Ph.D.; Head of the Master’s Program in Pharmacy, Dr. apt. Asih Triastuti, M.Pharm.; Head of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Program, apt. M. Hatta Prabowo, Ph.D.; Secretary of the Professional Pharmacy Program, apt. Arde Toga Nugraha, M.Sc.; Coordinator of Pharmacy Laboratories, Dr. apt. Rochmy Istikharah, S.Farm., M.Sc.; as well as several staff and laboratory technicians. They were warmly received by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, along with the leadership team, in Room 606, Rajaratama Building.

The visit aimed to discuss the implementation of the institutional partnership outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in March 2024. Discussion topics included potential collaboration in pharmaceutical education, curriculum management, shared learning spaces, research laboratories, academic service centers, and the broader goal of strengthening and expanding international partnerships between the two institutions.

During the productive and friendly discussions, both parties also expressed interest in more detailed collaborative opportunities, such as student exchange programs, training initiatives, postgraduate study opportunities, joint publications, and co-hosting academic conferences. After the two-hour discussion, the FMIPA UII delegation was given a campus tour, including faculty units, research centers, and laboratory facilities.
