Class of 44 UII Pharmacy Profession Students Successfully Complete OSCE, Ready to Become Qualified Pharmacists
Kaliurang — The students of the Pharmacy Profession Study Program (PSPA) at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Class of 44, recently took part in the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) as one of the final stages in their pharmacy education. This OSCE session marked the 8th formative OSCE held by the university. The exam, held on Saturday and Sunday, January 18-19, 2025/Rajab 18-19 1446 H, aimed to assess the overall competency of pharmacy students in the areas of production, distribution, and services.
The OSCE not only evaluates the students’ knowledge but also their ability to demonstrate practical skills as instructed by the exam stations. A total of 74 students participated in this OSCE, divided over two days. The exam process ran smoothly, thanks to the support of the internal committee from UII’s Pharmacy Department, who have frequently assisted in organizing this exam, as well as the presence of National OSCE Supervisors, who were on hand during the exam. The existence of this exam is expected to ensure that graduates have the necessary skills to provide high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Each participant was required to complete tasks at 10 different stations, with 10 minutes allocated to each one. Through the successful completion of this OSCE, it is expected that PSPA will continue to produce highly competent pharmacists in the workforce. At the conclusion of the exam, the National OSCE Supervisors, who were overseeing and assisting with the process, did not provide any special notes to the organizing committee, which means that this national OSCE session was considered a success and ran smoothly.
